iVAC: A Pilot-Centric Application for Flight Operations

iVAC is a free application designed to provide quick and easy access to French and overseas VAC/IAC charts, as well as ULM terrain maps. The application offers a practical solution for pilots requiring reliable chart information in diverse operational contexts.

With internet connectivity, iVAC allows users to download and display the most recent updates of available charts. In scenarios lacking internet access, such as during flight at altitude, the app automatically utilizes the latest downloaded version, ensuring continuous access to crucial navigation data. This feature guarantees that, regardless of network conditions, users always have at their disposal a current or near-current VAC/IAC chart for all French aerodromes.

The app benefits from monthly updates provided by the SIA, and it notifies users when new versions are available for download. The date of the upcoming SIA update is visible within the information section of iVAC. All chart data is sourced from the official SIA public website at http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr.

iVAC requires iOS version 8.0 or later to operate effectively. The app automatically disables sleep mode during the initial full download process to facilitate uninterrupted data transfer.
